Extravagancia de Pinatas

Thank You to all of the teachers and students who participated in our first Extravagancia de Pinatas.  Due to the wind, these fabulous pinata’s were displayed inside House of Rock during the Dia de los Muertos Festival on Friday, October 28th.  Winners of the Extravaganza de Pinatas were selected by a panel of judges and are listed below:

First Place:  ”Oaxaca” by Calallen High School’s Advanced Studio Art Classes led by Amber Mannlien

Second Place:  ”Little Girl in Swing” by the Fourth Grade Bilingual Class from Hattie Martin Elementary in Robstown.

Third Place:  ”La Catrina” by Kaffie Middle School Art Club led by Irma Janko

NuStar Energy sponsored supply money and Cash awards for each place wins a cash award to be used for classroom supplies.  In addition, each group that participated will receive a gift card to Half Price Books.   Special thanks to NuStar Energy for sponsoring this project and to Half Price Books for helping out with additional prizes.
